Fresh, graphic and effortlessly stylish, our Designers Guild Burlington Stripe Emerald Lampshade is handmade to order in our UK studio using Burlington Stripe Emerald from Designers Guild.
This beautifully woven striped fabric combines varying widths of fresh emerald, rich green and natural tones to create a bold yet highly versatile design. The subtle woven texture gives the stripes depth and character, making it particularly effective when used on the clean architectural form of a handmade lampshade.
 
Burlington Stripe Emerald is a 100% cotton fabric from Designers Guild's Studio Stripes collection. It measures 137cm wide, with an 8.5cm horizontal pattern repeat and a random pattern match.
A particularly versatile feature of this lampshade is the choice of stripe orientation. The fabric can be made with the stripes running vertically, as shown in our photographs, for a classic elongated appearance, or horizontally for a completely different, contemporary look.

Although Burlington Stripe Emerald is 137cm wide, we can carefully pattern-match the fabric where required, allowing us to offer our standard lampshade range up to 50cm rather than restricting the larger sizes purely because of the fabric width.
Larger bespoke lampshades are also available on request. Please contact us with the dimensions you require and we'll be happy to discuss the possibilities.
 
Stripe Orientation
Choose how you would like the Burlington Stripe pattern to appear on your finished lampshade:
Vertical Stripes – as pictured, creating a smart, elongated striped effect.
Horizontal Stripes – the fabric is turned so that the stripes travel around the shade, creating a broader, contemporary banded effect.
Because every lampshade is handmade to order, we can carefully position and pattern-match the fabric to create a considered, professional finish.
 
Interior Lining Options
All of our lampshades are supplied with a white lining as standard, creating a clean finish while gently diffusing light to produce a soft, ambient glow.

Complete the Look – Lampshade Diffuser
For drum lampshades, an optional diffuser can be added to create an even more polished and beautifully finished appearance.
The diffuser sits neatly inside the lower opening of the shade, helping to soften the light and conceal the bulb and lamp fitting when viewed from below or across the room.
This can be particularly effective when the lampshade is used on a ceiling pendant or on a lower table or floor lamp where the underside of the shade is more visible.

Complete Your Lampshade – Fitting Guidance
For ceiling lights
Coolie and Empire lampshades require a Spider Adaptor when being used as a ceiling pendant.
For table and floor lamps
Coolie and Empire lampshades require a Lampshade Carrier when being fitted to a table or floor lamp.
Drum and Rectangular lampshades do not require these additional fittings.
 
Green Striped Lampshade Handmade in the UK
The Designers Guild Burlington Stripe Emerald Lampshade brings together classic striped design, contemporary colour and traditional UK lampshade making.
The combination of emerald and natural tones makes this an especially versatile green striped lampshade, working beautifully with green, clear and neutral glass lamp bases as well as ceramic, timber and metal lighting.
Each lampshade is individually handmade to order, with particular attention paid to the alignment and pattern matching of the stripes. The option to choose between vertical and horizontal stripes also allows the same Designers Guild fabric to create two distinctly different looks.
