Shalimar is a striking botanical design featuring trailing coconut palms intertwined with leaves, creating a beautifully flowing pattern with a sophisticated tropical character. The Emerald colourway layers rich green tones across a natural linen and cotton ground, giving the design depth while retaining the tactile character of the fabric. Shalimar takes its name from the historic royal gardens of the Mughal Empire in South Asia.
Part of the Osborne & Little Byzance collection, Shalimar Emerald is printed onto a premium 52% linen / 48% cotton fabric. The natural fibres give the finished lampshade a softly textured appearance that works particularly well with the organic palm and foliage design. The fabric is 140cm wide with a substantial 60cm pattern repeat.
Each lampshade is individually cut and handmade, allowing us to carefully consider the placement of the large-scale pattern and create a beautifully balanced finished shade.

Although Shalimar Emerald is 140cm wide, we can carefully pattern-match additional fabric where required, allowing us to offer our full standard lampshade range up to 50cm.
Larger bespoke lampshades are also available on request. Please contact us with your required dimensions and we'll be happy to discuss the possibilities.
Because Shalimar has a large 60cm pattern repeat, the precise positioning of the palms and foliage will naturally vary according to the size and shape of the lampshade. We carefully select and position the fabric to achieve the most balanced composition possible.
Interior Lining Options
All of our lampshades are supplied with a white lining as standard, creating a clean finish while gently diffusing light to produce a soft, ambient glow.

Complete the Look – Lampshade Diffuser
For drum lampshades, an optional diffuser can be added to create an even more polished and beautifully finished appearance.
The diffuser sits neatly inside the lower opening of the shade, helping to soften the light and conceal the bulb and lamp fitting when viewed from below or across the room.
This can be particularly effective when the lampshade is used on a ceiling pendant or on a lower table or floor lamp where the underside of the shade is more visible.

For ceiling lights
Coolie and Empire lampshades require a Spider Adaptor when being used as a ceiling pendant.
For table and floor lamps
Coolie and Empire lampshades require a Lampshade Carrier when being fitted to a table or floor lamp.
Drum and Rectangular lampshades do not require these additional fittings.
Green Botanical Lampshade Handmade in the UK
The Shalimar Emerald by Osborne & Little Lampshade combines luxurious designer fabric with traditional UK lampshade making to create a distinctive statement piece for contemporary and classic interiors.
Its sweeping coconut palms and intertwined foliage give the fabric an elegant botanical character, while the rich emerald colouring makes it particularly effective alongside green and clear recycled glass, natural timber, brass and other warm metallic finishes.
The linen and cotton ground introduces a subtle natural texture that prevents the large-scale pattern from feeling overly formal. Each lampshade is handmade to order, with careful consideration given to pattern placement and matching so that the distinctive Shalimar design is shown to its best advantage.
